Belinda Herde (nee Smith)
About Me
Belinda is a passionate Olympic Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist with a special interest in exercise and strength and conditioning, having undertaken post graduate studies in Strength & Conditioning at Edith Cowan University. Belinda has worked in Professional Tennis for over 10 years.
After working at ITF tournaments and the National Academy with Tennis Australia, Belinda left to live in Florida and spent 6 years working full time with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) world tour, travelling globally to tournaments including Grand Slam and Masters events. Belinda also completed a life-long dream and worked at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Belinda continues to travel internationally working as a physio on the WTA tennis tour. In 2017 Belinda joined husband Ben full time at Grand Slam Physiotherapy.
Belinda also has an interest in research, having co-authored a number of research paper’s in Sports Medicine and presented at the 2017 IOC World Conference on Prevention of Injury & Illness in Sport. Belinda is also a clinical educator working with the La Trobe University Sports & Exercise Physiotherapy Masters program. She has also completed a Masterclass on Shoulder injuries for the Sports Map Network.
Belinda has worked throughout Australia in a variety of Sports Medicine environments and with Aussie Rules Football teams. Belinda loves treating long term injuries, and the challenge of rebuilding patients to get them fit, active and strong. Specializing in the female athlete she also has a special interest in shoulders, elbows, and overuse running injuries and completes running assessments. Belinda loves running at the beach and completed the Adelaide Marathon in 2017 and looks forward to getting back into marathon training following having kids. Belinda also loves camping, cooking and a good glass of red wine.
