Kara Zervides (nee Giannone)
About Me
Kara graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy Practice in 2015. She has since completed her Post Graduate Certificate of Sports Physiotherapy and has just completed her Masters of Sports Physiotherapy in 2022 and been awarded the APA Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist title.
Kara has a keen interest in sports physiotherapy having worked in netball, AFL and with the Victorian Indoor Women’s Hockey Team. Kara currently works as a physio with the Geelong Cats VFL team. She is a keen runner, having completed the McLaren Vale Marathon in 2021, and therefore enjoys working closely with runners and ensuring they stay injury free. She is also a qualified DMA Pilates Instructor and has completed further training in Dry Needling.
Kara has completed research assistant work in the area of hip and groin pain within the Latrobe University’s Sports and Exercise Medicine Research Centre. She has also been fortunate to have traveled overseas extensively, most notably coordinating physiotherapy volunteer programs in Nepal and Cambodia.
Kara enjoys treating a wide range of sports and musculoskeletal injuries using a patient centered approach combining her skills in manual therapy, dry needling and exercise based rehabilitation. Kara has a particular interest in treating running injuries, Tendon injuries, post-operative rehabilitation and shoulder instability.
