Surf Coast Chargers Basketball Warm Up

A dynamic warm up is a key component to a training program to prime the body for optimal performance, prepare the body for play and prevent injury. A basketball warm up consists of 4 main components to be specific for the demands of basketball:

  • Running and agility
  • Strength and balance/ motor control
  • Mobility
  • Dynamic power- jumping/ hopping and landing

The warm up should comprise elements of all of the above and take approximately 10-15 minutes.

Jacob demonstrated this warm-up prior to the Chargers games on the weekend (14 May 2022) and held a clinic for the junior players.
