What is Myotherapy?

Myotherapy is a healthcare profession that focuses on optimising the function and performance of the musculoskeletal system (muscles and myofascia). If there are any symptoms or dysfunction present, treatment aims to normalise sensation and function for the patient. Where there is no symptoms present, management aims to optimise function, movement and performance.

Myotherapy at Grand Slam Physiotherapy

Here at Grand Slam we are so fortunate to have Toby Glennon treating from our premises. Toby is the Director of SportsMyo and works from our Torquay on a Tuesday morning. He has been working in the field for over 13 years.

At present, he splits his time between treating at the clinic, lecturing within the Massage & Myotherapy department at RMIT University in Melbourne, and providing on-the-road support for various teams and athletes. He is also teaching postgraduate Dry Needling courses to various allied health therapists. He has had a wealth of experience on the professional circuit, including the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, ParaTriathlon, Triathlon World Championships, World Uni Games, MTB World Championships.
